How do I place a group order? The group order feature allows you to set up a food delivery order for a group of people that are in one location, such as a group of coworkers or clients. Each member of the group can select their own food items from the restaurant online. You can save a list of people to choose from, and notifications to your group (along with ordering instructions) are sent to them automatically. Putting together a lunch has never been so easy!
Create Your Group First, you must "Create An Account" and profile on our web site. Next, identify a group of people that you wish to include. From the main menu under "Account Settings", select "Colleague List". In the spaces provided, enter in up to 50 names and email addresses of folks whom you might like to include in a group order. You can always add, edit, and remove entries later. This group will be your "pool" of people from which you can choose to include in a group order.
Start the Order To begin the group ordering process, select "Place a Group Order" from the main menu. First, select your delivery location. This location must be one of your predefined delivery locations. After you choose a delivery location from the drop-down list, you must then choose which members of your group you wish to include. The names from your pool are provided; simply click in the checkbox next to their name to include them. Don't forget to check the box for "yourself" if you wish to also receive food on this order.
Select a Date and Time Your next step is to tell us when you would like your food delivered. First, select a day from the provided calendar (up to one month in advance) that you wish to place the order for by clicking in the box on the corresponding day. After choosing a day, a list of available times will display in a series of boxes underneath the calendar. To select a time, click in the desired box.
Select a Restaurant After selecting a delivery time, you are presented with a list of restaurants that we can deliver from for you location. If a restaurant is not able to prepare food for the desired delivery time, it will display a message stating so. The menu for each restaurant may be viewed by clicking on the "view menu" link next to each restaurant name. Also, you may filter the list of menus that are presented based upon what type of food you would like (i.e. Italian, Oriental, etc) by selecting the category from the drop-down list in the upper-right corner of the screen. As long as a restaurant is available to receive a delivery from, you may select it by clicking on the name of the restaurant.
Select Your Food Items If you have chosen to include yourself in the group order, you are then presented with the menu of that restaurant. A listing of the food categories is listed along the left-hand side, and clicking on a food category heading will display a listing of the available food in that category in the middle of the screen. To select a menu item, click on the item name. You will be brought to a screen where you may select how many of that item you would like, as well as add any special comments for the restaurant regarding that food item (i.e., "hold the mayonnaise"). If there are extra options available for this food item, you may select them here.
As you add items to your order, they will appear in your order pad along the right-hand side along with a running total of your food order, including any applicable delivery fees and taxes. If you wish to remove a food item from your order, you may click on the red "X" next to the food item. To edit a food item that you have already added to your order, simply click on the item in the order pad. Underneath the ordering pad, you have the option to clear your order pad of all of your menu items and start over, or continue on after you have selected all of your restaurant items.
Select Your House Items Our delivery service also offers you the chance to add several items to your order that the restaurant may not offer, such as drinks and eating utensils. Some of these items might not incur an extra charge, but adding them to your order will help us ensure that you receive them with your order. Add house items in the same manner that you added food items to your order; when you have finished, click the "Continue" button underneath the order pad.
Select Payment Method Next, please choose your method of payment. If you wish to pay by credit card, you will be asked to enter in your credit card information. Once you have used a credit card with our online ordering system for an order, the credit card will become available via a drop-down list for all subsequent orders. Simply select the credit card from the list and click the "Continue" button.
Confirm Your Order Lastly, you will be given the opportunity to review your order. Please review all of your order information to ensure that it is correct. If you wish to revise any item, simply click on the corresponding ordering step from the progress bar along the top of the screen. Once you are satisfied that your order is correct, click the large button at the top that reads "CLICK TO PLACE ORDER".
An email will be sent out to you and to each member that is included in the group order. The email will contain instructions on how each member may order their food items, along with a link to their personal ordering page.
Edit the Group Order Once you have placed the order, you will be directed back to the main page. A new link will be available from the main menu, titled "Edit a Group Order". Clicking on this link will present you with a list of all of your upcoming group orders that you have organized. If you click on the name of the restaurant from this list, you will be taken to a special screen where you may see details about the group order. A list of all of the invitees will display, along with an indication of whether or not they have responded. You will have the option on this screen to view and edit each person's order, remove a person from the order, or cancel the order entirely.
The "ordering deadline" is also presented on this page; the ordering deadline is the time at which the order will actually be placed. All members of the group order MUST have placed their orders at this time, or else they will be excluded from the group order. You may change the ordering deadline if you wish from this screen, in the event that you wish to have everyone complete their order by a certain time. Once the deadline is reached, the order is automatically placed with our delivery service. You will receive a confirmation email at this time will details pertaining to your order.
